Asian Winter Games, the most comprehensive quadrennial gala for winter sports in Asia, is sponsored by Olympic Council of Asia. The 6th Asian Winter Games is scheduled to be held in Changchun, Capital City of Northeast China's Jilin Province, in January of 2007, and will attract more 3000 athletes and thousands of distinguished guests, delegations, exhibition and tourism teams, sponsors and suppliers to the "North Spring City". The Games includes 47 events in 9 sports, including speed skating, short-track speed skating, figure skating, ice hockey, curling, alpine skiing cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing, and biathlon and so on. Some large-scale activities such as the torch relay, opening and closing ceremonies as well as other cultural exchange programs will also be staged during the Games. The two major broadcasters, CCTV 5 and Jilin TV, will cover the whole process of the Games, and some other official broadcasters from Japan, South Korea and other countries and regions will also rebroadcast the Games, which will undoubtedly present a big dinner for millions of sports fans around the world. |
